Poison isn't sure if he's hung over or what, but he spent half the morning after the Pride events feeling kind of groggy and a little dazed. After finally untangling himself from Jack he stumbles into the bathroom. He emerges again in a pair of his pajama pants - beige with black bears on them - and t-shirt that's too big for him. Probably Jack's. He's pretty sure he still has glitter in his hair despite his shower.

He makes a little noise, kind of pitiful, and then realizes he hasn't seen Sunny since yesterday. He goes to knock - gently - on her bedroom door.

"Sunny Girl, you here?"

He tries not to be too loud - he thinks it's only fair that he let Jack sleep.

She's been sleeping right up until he opens the door and then she opens her eyes, hair tousled, blinking.

"Right here, P," she says. "You can come in. S'okay. I'm on my own."

Poison pokes his head in, smiling when she assures him she's alone. "Hey, I'm making coffee - you want some? And like, breakfast or something?"

She gives him her best shit-eating grin and rolls onto her back. "Can I have it in here?"

One of his eyebrows slides up. Then he smirks. "Do you honestly trust me to carry anything from the kitchen to here in my current state? C'mon, come in the kitchen. I don't care if you don't have pants on and Jack's still asleep."

"P," she whines, stretching out the single syllable as far as she can. "'C'mon. I'm so cosy."

Poison laughs. "I could carry you,' he points out. "Tuck you in on the couch and we can talk from there."

"I don't know why you're so adverse to breakfast in bed," she says, rolling her eyes. "What did breakfast in bed ever do to you, huh?"

"Spilled everywhere," he answers. Poison grins and shuffles over, promptly bundling Girl in her blanket so he can lift her, almost as easily as he did when she was a tiny thing.

"Besides, if you stay in bed then I can't talk to you while I'm making breakfast and I'll be all by my lonesome in the kitchen."

Girl squawks in protest, but lets him lift her, blanket and all, her bare feet dangling. She curls her arms around her neck, even though she knows he won't drop her. He's the person she trusts most in the world.

"You could have just woken Jack up, you know."

"But I want to talk to you, otherwise maybe I would have."

True to his word, he tucks Girl in on the couch in her blanket nest, then heads to the kitchen. "You want coffee? And what do we want for breakfast?"

"Yes, I want coffee," says Girl, immediately snuggling down in her blanket on the couch just like she'd been snuggled down in bed. "And...bacon. If Jack's not up."

"Even if Jack was up he'd be fine with it... he'd probably cook it for you," he points out. He gets the coffee maker going and gets out the creamer he knows she likes, and the sugar.

"When did you get back?"

"Yeah, yeah," says Girl, rolling her eyes, but she means it kindly. She's warmed a lot to Jack in the time that she's known him. "Like...two? Three? Something like that."

Poison's eyebrows lift, just a little, and he peers into the living room. "Out with Carson?" What? He knows they were at the Pride events together, he's just asking.

"Yeah," she says, nodding, snuggling into her pillows. "We drank a bit, wandered around, went and got some food."

"So I really did mean it, talking about like. Sex and relationships and all," he says, almost cautiously or shyly or... something. He thinks it's important; he's worried she'll just roll her eyes at him again.

Girl gives a little huff of a sigh, but she doesn't dismiss him out of hand.

"Okay," she says, flopping back on the couch.

"I just-- I mean, sex in the Zones was different," he says with a helpless shrug. "Were you in any actual relationships?" He's not asking in a judgmental kind of way, he's just trying to figure out where he should start.

"Nope," says Girl, not a hint of shame about that. Poison knows what the Zones were like. He knows how fleeting connections could be. "Just...you know. Moments here and there."

Poison nods. "Yeah, I figured. Just wanted to make sure. So like... I mean, I'm not gonna pretend to know how you feel or what you ultimately want with Carson - or anyone - and I'm not gonna act like you know exactly what you want either. It's still pretty new, right? There's no rush in figuring that part out."

He pushes the bacon around the pan. "But... shit gets more complicated when you actually want to be with someone." He thinks of Ghoul, and he thinks of Jack.

Girl rolls onto her side so that she can watch him cooking, hugging a pillow against her chest. He wants to talk and she's going to listen to him.

"Yeah?"

Poison shrugs and gestures with his free hand. "Yeah." He frowns a little and looks over at her. "For one, it's easier to get hurt that way. Which doesn't mean you shouldn't do it, because it's great, but."

He gropes for the words he wants.

"You know you never have to do anything you don't want to, right? And you can tell someone 'no', and it doesn't matter what you're in the middle of doing?"

"Yeah, I managed to figure consent out on my own, P," she says, gently, a smile tugging at the corner of her mouth. "I'm like...ninety percent sure he's a virgin and, anyway, you don't have to worry. He's good to me."

"I'm just making sure," he says, a bit helplessly. He's missed twelve years of her life and sometimes he is painfully aware of that.

"Good." At least Carson is good to her. He finishes the bacon and goes to make her a cup of coffee. "Do you want anything other than bacon? Do you have uhm-- do you have like... any questions?"

"It's okay, P," she says, gently, tugging herself up into more of a sitting position,still swaddled in her blankets. "What kind of questions? And coffee. Please."
